Fall DIY

I suffer from fall DIY. I don’t know what it is about the season, but it always makes me want to hit the craft section. I overly pin projects on Pinterest. I want to try at least fifty new recipes. The changing of the seasons gets my creative juices flowing.

I love making my own scrubs and hand soaps and using my diffuser to bring out all the amazing smells of fall. Here are a few of my favorite DIY recipes.

Essential Oil Fall Foaming Hand Soap

  • Empty foaming soap dispenser
  • Water
  • 3 tbs Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile liquid soap unscented
  • 4-6 drops of essential oils

Add castile soap to dispenser. Drop essential oil into dispenser. Add enough water to fill soap dispenser. Place top back on dispenser and shake until mixed. Be sure to shake bottle prior to each use.

Some recommend fall scented oils are cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger, cardamom, orange and patchouli. Combining two or more of these will create the perfect fall scent.

Pumpkin Spice Scented Sugar Scrub

  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 TBSP honey
  • 1/4 cup almond or jojoba oil
  • 1 drop each nutmeg, cinnamon, clove and ginger essential oils*

Begin by mixing sugars in a bowl. Combine oils and honey together in a separate bowl. Pour the oil and honey mixture into the sugars and stir. Add more oil or sugar to reach desired consistency if needed. Place mixture into a sealable container such as a mason jar. Use whenever you want a fall pick me up!

* If stronger scent is desired, two drops of the essential oils may be used.
